Overcoming "Intellectual Constipation:" Re-balancing with Creative Outflow
"Feel, think, act, repeat." Teresa and Tom explore how 'intellectual constipation,' is a sign of a lack of creative outflow. In this episode, through personal examples of recent experiences, they share another angle around the difference between your true feelings, your intellect, and emotions.
They emphasize the importance of accepting one's true feelings rather than relying solely on the intellectual programming of emotional reactions. They describe how to regain enthusiasm by respecting yourself enough to tune into your true feelings, then discern and fact find, before moving into action. We have been trained to look outside of ourselves first for direction and answers, which is backwards.
"Simplifying things is key." The discussion touches on their experience and personal solutions around how they simplified areas such as health and spiritual information, while maintaining respecting others' journeys and choices. "It's liberating."
They advocate for recognizing and trusting one's own inner wisdom gained from lifetimes as a soul, along with your inner Guidance to clarify what is a concept that no longer fits, and "programmed" emotions versus true feelings. This is a path for organized purposeful action and accomplishment with fulfillment.

So the thing I really want to share about this week, Tom, is intellectual... Are you ready for this? I guess so. Constipation. wow. Yeah, I forgot you mentioned that this morning. Yeah, you know, that's a big thing for me is keeping everything cleaned out and not backed up. So lately I've been noticing that I've had... because, you know, on the physical, mental and spiritual part, obviously we really embrace the spiritual part a lot, but...
I've noticed for myself that on my physical that I've, you know, I am always involved in staying healthy. What's the way to stay healthy for myself, my body, moving it, supplements, et cetera, and the way I eat. And I recognize recently I was really ⁓ congested with so much information. And so it got me started on this topic about
you know, even like spirituality and there how much there's so much information out in the world that we can sometimes get constipated. Can you relate to this? Yes, but what does that feel like? mean, to you? Well, for me, it was overwhelming. I didn't have like as much anxiety as I would have in the past because I would experience anxiety in the past when I was like filled up with too much information.
or too much say, like I went to a whole weekend workshop about what was spiritual and some intellectual stuff and I would come home just like, ⁓ so full. didn't know what to do with myself. So the other day I just, I just got overwhelmed really. And then it just started me thinking about the fact that, you know, there's so much information in the world and how to really decipher and how to really like, ⁓ I see like one of those, ⁓
when they take the dirt and they make they look for the gold like panning it how it kind of sifts through like how to sift through to find out what's right for me and and you know and not be overwhelmed by things. Well the solution that I pick up from spirit as you're sharing about that is outflow and that is for me what outflow means is I'm ⁓ being involved in creative activities where I feel a lot and you know because the the secret is is just
operating from our true feelings, know, from our feeling nature, then organizing with facts and information. And I, how I relate is that I see the world constantly searching in the intellect for answers and descriptions and those kinds of things. When the intellect is really just there to interpret or discern my
what I'm feeling, what I'm picking up. But I've noticed for me, the experience that I noticed is that I've been so well trained to work with my intellect, you know, through the education system. And really it's just reinforced constantly in our, you know, nature that ⁓ the tendency is to look for the answers in my head rather than what do I feel. And my solution lately is
just slow down, just relax, get a feeling. And rather than sort of ⁓ when someone's talking to me, rather than sort of reacting from the intellect, you know, like, it's almost like a game, you know, in my, my brain where I'm ⁓ hearing what they're saying, they're, talking to me and then in my head. And it occurred to me ⁓ actually this week, like,
take a deep breath and relax. Where are they coming from? What's the true feeling behind it? And one of the examples I had for me was ⁓ I had a ⁓ customer talking to me about ⁓ their situation and my brain kind of went like, don't need to know any of this. This is not accomplishing the business at hand. ⁓ And ⁓ why are they giving me this sort of ⁓
advice that this is happens at times as well, or why are they making these statements? And when I tuned into my, went, ⁓ I did do this this weekend. went to my feelings like, ⁓ he just wants to share about his son. You know, he just wants to outflow, ⁓ those feelings that he has. it, it wasn't, he wasn't trying to teach me anything. It wasn't, ⁓ you know, it was just that simple. So
What do you feel about that? Well, I'm really glad you mentioned the feelings because it is true in my life, the moments that I've had, especially around my physical and how I feel or, or if something, an outside influence, like say the COVID shot and how do I feel about that? That was the first thing that hit me, right? Something doesn't feel quite right about that. When I started getting sick and I could feel my, my liver a lot, a couple of years back,
That doesn't feel right. So how do I work with that? And I wasn't overthinking things, but I was in my feelings. So those moments when I've just gone from my feelings, I've really been able to be led certain ways that have been supported for me. And then recently when I was involved in listening to the podcast after podcast after podcast about health and this and that, and that's when I, I recognize I need to like turn off some of it.
I'm listening to too much. So I think that's the thing with for myself is I recognize that there's so many good people in the world trying to be of service. But what what do I resonate with? I noticed that, you know, with emotions, ⁓ I can emotionally react to certain situations and jump to conclusions, you know, you might say. And the more that I ⁓ tune into my feelings, you know, I can I can stay relaxed, but
I think I've been trained to react and react from the checklist of the procedure of how I operate within society. And some of that's all valid, you know, like we have in our culture, in our environment, we have a ways that we expect people, you might say, to treat each other or talk to each other or ⁓ move through an interaction. And I've noticed ⁓
as I'd lived in Australia for quite a number of years. And I've traveled that every place has got these sort of underlying procedures in how you respond to people, or how you communicate. it's good. And to me, that's like knowing the game. Knowing the game that I'm playing.
or the protocol, you know, of how to communicate. And whether it's, ⁓ you know, from a spiritual point of view, communication is just communication, but within different cultures and in different environments and different families, even, you know, it changes. And I noticed I just have to relax and respect that. But the key is, is I think with this intellectual con
constipation is just getting back to my feelings, and then outflowing what I'm feeling. My version of this is I, I'm so organized, I've said this before that I'm quite good at operating in society, according to the procedures, according to the protocols, I've been trained, well, I have a good brain and all that. And ⁓ I'm a quick study, you might say so.
I forget to just ask myself, how do I feel about what I'm, you know, picking up? So, ⁓ I noticed with you, you feel a lot and that's kind of, you, you tend to work more from that point of view and then get my facts and then, then get your facts. Well, it's interesting because as you're talking about like being programmed, as many of us are in, know, living here on this planet and in this realm we're in,
The other day when I was listening to a lady speak about, know, raising children and all the things that we go through and how, you know, the progression of the different things we experienced, especially in the medical field. And I think back as she was saying this, I thought back to, you know, like back then it was so like I was working with my energy. I was working with the kids energy. I was working with the husband's energy. Like I was working with all these energies and it was
for myself being a very sensitive person, it was very overwhelming and not understanding how to discern what I'm feeling, what I'm picking up on. Like she was talking about how, know, when our bodies get a fever, it's good because our body is fighting off something. And whenever, I remember when the kids would get a cold or a fever, let's go to the doctor and then what would they do? Give antibiotics. And so then there's this whole other realm of, you know, having too many antibiotics in your body, but.
But what I'm trying to say is for myself in recognizing and being able to discern what I'm feeling these days is so much different than where I was back when I had children, you know, 30 years ago. For me, it's, know, when do I react from my emotions rather than my true feelings? And you could almost think of those emotions that, and the way we react is probably the best way to describe it as being procedures we've learned.
You know that we picked up from watching people around us or in our environment. And you know, sometimes it's it's effective. ⁓ It gets a point across in the culture that you live in, you know, to react more emotionally. And however, when I cut off the flow of my true feelings. ⁓ It's often because I'm caught in the emotions and then the intellect is but but but but but but but you know is.
is trying to look for solutions when really the solutions are in my feelings. And that just takes, I know for me, it just takes practice. know, we're just talking about ⁓ looking for that balance. And so my mantra lately is ⁓ slow is smooth and smooth is fast. And in fact, I had a fellow I work with ⁓ a few weeks ago, ⁓ there was, I made an error in a procedure.
And I had done it a couple of times and he said something real simple. He's a real calm guy. He's always looks relaxed. He's a big guy. And he said, you know, just, ⁓ feedback, you know, we're not supposed to do this. We're supposed to do that. Here's the, you know, the procedure clarifying it and, you know, the feedback and he goes, you know, just slow down a little bit. And at first simple, yeah. My, my intellect wanted to go, well, there's gotta be more.
You know, to it than that. But the more that it sunk in, how often do I get messages that are just that simple, that obvious? And so what I've been practicing is, is I work with people because I'd like to be of service. I like to be quick. I like to meet their needs. And, ⁓ but if I rush, you know, then I'm going to, ⁓ miss something sometimes, you know, that we can get caught up in missing something and
I guess with slowing down and just tuning into what my true feelings are. The other thing it helps me do is kind of discern what's all the fluff and hype because you've mentioned this as well, that as a new story comes out or as new information, you know, for example, there's this new information that Tylenol could be linked or, you know, strongly suspected to be linked to autism. And of course we've been using Tylenol, Tylenol or that
you know, the underlying drug acetamephrine or whatever it is. Acetaminophen. Metaphen, yeah. For a long time. You know, in fact, that was thought of as a better, a safer alternative to aspirin and so forth. But not to get into the weeds with this is that, wow, there's a change in picture, you know, and, and then the emotions that are going to come up are like, oh my God, I've been giving people and my kids this my whole life. Oh.
Cry me, know, crikey, we're going to, we've done the wrong thing. And so you don't want to go there. And so, ⁓ that's when maybe the intellectual constipation comes up is like, you're stuck in the intellect. It's not, you're not outflowing, which probably is more healthy to go what, you know, that's, I feel emotional about that, you know, and then, but then relax and get back to my feeling. how do, now that I've had that outflow of that emotion,
What are my true feelings about it? My true feelings are, well, you know, for me, it's never affected me, you know, and I, ⁓ but I'll, I'm interested in hearing more information as it becomes, you know, ⁓ available. Yes. So the keyword out of all that you just said was, ⁓ to simplify things. So when I was watching this podcast and it was with a lady named Barbara O'Neill, who's an amazing, ⁓ she's a vegetarian, which of course I'm a carnivore and she's, but she's been doing her stuff for
Decades and she's so good with homeopathic and ⁓ and like thing like natural ways to do things. Uh-huh. And so You know she was going along and you know saying this and because they were talking about all kinds of subjects with the body and I recognized when I was you know, I was starting to get a little more like my gosh There's so much but then I said wait a minute There are quite a bit of this that she's mentioning that I already do and so I think that's for myself
that's a, a real good place to begin when I go into these realms of exploring new information and on a subject, especially about my physical body or even spiritual, like what are people talking about spiritually? Right. Is to simplify it and go, okay, so what works for me? What am I doing right now? wow. I'm doing this and that. And how does that feel for myself? I think that's a real good way to, for myself to work because there's so much information out there. Yeah. And I,
was thinking this week or, you know, reflecting upon the fact that, you know, what am I sharing about and what am I going through in my life? And it's expanding my awareness, ⁓ my awareness of the power that I have as a positive, loving, creative soul, you know, our entity or light energy or whatever you want to.
call it and then I say, well, why are we even bothering with these skin suits and you know, moving through lifetimes? And in my feelings, the answer is always because it's fun. It's, it's expansion, it's awareness, it's all part of the plan. And I feel secure with that. So ⁓ that's the other true feeling that comes up, like it's all perfect. It feels I feel secure. So
It's important that I tune into that and allow myself to kind of just absorb that feeling. And then as you say, like, well, what am I here to really work with and what's got my interest at this time? So I noticed that, you know, for yourself, the health thing has always been, ⁓ ever since I've known you, you know, alternative ways of looking at health and, you know, what's, what's fascinating is, ⁓ you're right. You know, you've, you've come across some ideas.
And, ⁓ you know, I'm aware of some of the couple of, least a couple of your previous lifetime that you've shared with me. And it has, it has something to do with all that. So you're sensitive to that. You've been in situations where you were surprised at what people were up to, you know, from that perspective. And you've had a history of, as a soul of being involved in the healing arts and so forth. So there's areas to refine and you're probably.
You know, way shore in that area, but I always come back to it. all have different experiences. You know, we're all here to grow an awareness in different areas. And if I get caught up in competition of, you know, even good friends of ours, you know, that I don't agree with, and we watch them react to things and I go, gosh, they don't even get the facts. And, know, they're just, they, they've just got this opinion right away, ⁓ which everybody talks about, you know, out in the environment.
these days. ⁓ It's not their focus for where their growth is, you know, there's or that's, have to relax with that. And, ⁓ you know, maintain my boundaries and maintain my presence, but I don't have to get sucked into what their, you know, journey is. You said something to me really interesting this morning that, you know, for your daughters, you know, the way you look at it is, you know,
I'm not here to tell you how to raise your babies or ⁓ live your life. know, if you have any questions, you certainly can reach out to me and I'd love to support you with my experience. But really it's up to you and how freeing, you know, for those souls you're working with because whether I like it or not, I can't live somebody else's life for them. And I need to empower them to have their own experiences.
Yeah, to me, that's just about respect. So I respect other people and where they're at. I respect other people and what they're going through. And I respect the fact that if someone would like to ask me about things that I've walked through and what how I've how it's benefited me, then I'll be happy to share. But until then, I literally meant the point where I'm not I'm only sharing when people are asking me. And how does that feel? my God. It feels so liberating. Yeah.
liberating that true feelings feel that right and I'll say enthusiastic but your program is there and the programming in the environment is well you're supposed to you know especially for me being raised as a good Catholic is or being raised Catholic that you know I'm responsible for my siblings and for people and I have to make sure they
get on the right track. And I even find it with customers like, well, I'll feel responsible for them. I have that tendency, right? But the more that I tune into my true feelings, I just have to like, I'm to learn to trust that to feel happy and free or liberated or liberating is actually on that's on target. That's on target. And I find that when I reflect with my guidance, like we did this morning, you know,
Even just within a few seconds, like tune back into that bigger picture that everything's okay. This is a game where we've got all kinds of levels of consciousness here on planet earth evolving through the system. And I love to share it as like, you know, there's all sorts of different seminars happening here right now. I don't have to be involved in every seminar that's happening here on planet earth. Well, that's liberating to yeah, only be involved in what
serves me in this moment of my, my journey. Yes. You know, our friend Tiger will say, you know, what's my business, you know, what's my business in this interaction? Because the older and more experienced I get, mean, like there's a, the challenges keep showing up until I find a way to deal with them. They will be till the end. Yeah. I noticed that the aging process, you know, speaking of health, you know, really moves in on people because they, you know, that they keep trying to maintain this competitive.
way of operating. And it's interesting as we mature, you know, we, we can't compete in areas like we used to, at least from that physical, you know, point of view, things start to change and modify. And the great news about that is that now I can relax and get, you know, it's, kind of, you might say, ⁓ the way the system's set up, I'm kind of moved. won't say force, but I'm moved into a path of.
unfolding more of my true feelings. Because to operate the same old super competitive way on planet earth, the out of balance competition no longer suits. It's not, it's not as easy to do. don't know about you, Tom, but I feel unconstipated now. What did you share that helped you with that? Well, I feel that that being, you know, the simplifying
I feel that discerning what do I need to be involved in at this moment in time and also recognizing how much I put together for myself along the journey to get to this point. I mean, I'm still alive. The kids I raised, the things I was around, they're all still alive. so that's something to celebrate. Yeah, I guess I was regrouping that like, so how do I know if I'm trying to control everything around me?
⁓ when I can get into that out of balance, intellect, ⁓ mentality or mode, you might say, ⁓ that all I have to do is take a deep breath, relax and allow myself to say, are my true feelings? What's my inner wisdom? And that's, you know, notice I'm kind of reacting here. So this is, this is, ⁓ you know, something that I, I have enough experience with all this that I go, ⁓ wow.
There's, there's a little something there where I'm allowing that to really move into, you know, my way of being. So, ⁓ yeah. And as I've often said, you know, we offer tools and techniques and materials and our sharing's on this podcast to help people get into that balance flow. ⁓ yeah, it's always, it's every step of the way of my lifetime.
you know, there's something to sort of refine and imagine as long as I'm here, that's how it's how it's going to be. So cheers to, ⁓ in 10 and intellectual unconstipation, moving with balance, moving with balance, feel, think, act, feel, think, act. Acting is that, you know, allowing those emotions to flow, being involved, outflowing and all that. It's a good thing. Yeah. What's so interesting is that we're both
As we were thinking about this week and the things that we've been involved with, you've come at it with this label of intellectual constipation, but it's funny what's been kind of my guidance has been working with me on. And this is the great thing about sharing with others is that, you know, I'm just channeling like what, what I've been, what's been on my mind and then what spirit sort of suggests as we share. ⁓ it's a beautiful thing.
So thank you for watching or listening to another episode of Enthusiastically Spiritual. We appreciate you and the fact that you're on this journey with us as you discern, understand how to relate to all the intellectual things out in the world and whatever realm you're working with. And we hope that you gain some insights from this episode for your journey. And remember that life is too short to not be enthusiastic about your unique journey.
