Spiritual Perspectives: Moving Beyond "Spiritual Warfare"

Teresa & Tom Shantz Season 6 Episode 14

Send us a text

Tom Shantz and Tiger Coll explore a current media focus around the concept of  “spiritual warfare.” They reveal where it begins and ends for an individual.  They go over how it all truly starts within each of us and how to move smoothly beyond that state of consciousness.

They note how many people are returning or re-discovering to their “spiritual roots” through religion and the pitfalls of thinking in terms of warfare and spiritual competition.

They go over personal  challenges and share keys and solutions they have found for meaningful difference and a better every day experience in their lives. They emphasize the significance of clear awareness of one's true soul nature, setting boundaries, and the law of attraction.

TNT SpiritWorks (00:01)
Welcome to discerning news. I'm here with Tiger Coll. I'm Tom Shantz. Tiger is the president of Wayshower's college and I work with him in that college. We've known each other probably, I don't know if 30, 40 years or 40 years or something. Just yesterday. Yeah. It seems like yesterday. And when you live in the present, it seems like it's still all happening.

So today I wanted to ask her to come over. ⁓ For those of you that are fans of Teresa, she's not here today, but she'll be back. Don't worry. Out on another adventure, out on another adventure and she'll, she'll be glad to add her two cents. I'm sure. ⁓ one of the themes that's come up a lot in a social media and, ⁓ some of the online media that I've been looking at.

is this idea of spiritual warfare. And there seems to be a new awareness or people are, you know, many people are returning back to sort of religious foundation or at least ⁓ picking up on part of what they, you know, picked up in there when they were younger. And as opposed to moving away from all that, it seems like people are coming back like

I would describe it as a sense that there is something more than what meets the eye or the physical eye in terms of what's going on here on planet earth. So what would you like to say about that at this stage? Okay, well, the there's a couple pieces of that. And I know we're going to cover them all. But the the the two main categories have to do first with

those spiritual foundations that you're talking about that attraction coming back home to things that are ⁓ more traditional, more familiar with different faiths, different religions, things like that, because there that has been a track record for our society for a long time. And that's where you go if you're, you know, going to talk about spiritual things, you know, and then there's the other part of it.

which is more of that warfare around people's true ethic, their their their true purpose in life. And so there's these that that feeling is that there's this contrary thing to what's going on to what I have come to do, or what I want to do, and then the societal norms or the the politics of something.

As opposed to me accomplishing something. So that then there's, know, other components of that have like attracts like, and all that good stuff. But I think the thing that stands out to me on those two things is the need for the basics, the need to come back home, the need to feel like I'm a part of something. And it's not just me by myself.

And there's that emptiness there. I want to feel full, right? That's part of that. for those people in the metaphysical community or in the spiritual community, or even this religious community, there is that sense of being whole, being one with all, ⁓ that that's a need spiritually for the, for the, the, the real you, right? That that's not just a one. That's a, that's a need. And when I don't have it, or I don't feel it,

I'm going to go longing for it and people can get involved in all kinds of interesting things, good and bad and ugly because they don't feel that if they don't recognize that they've got it and all they have to do is unfold it. They're going to go looking for it out there somewhere. And, ⁓ you know, sometimes they find things that are good, like, a good church or a good mosque or synagogue or something to go help them unfold that.

But if they're not careful, then those things can become something out there. And the classic thing is, do I go into the church or does the church come into me? Right? Meaning, am I actually embodying my philosophy or is it just something that I go do every now and then? So that's kind of the first thing that stands out to me is that need for connection, that need.

to be whole that need for the fellowship. That's the first part of it. Yeah, and our feeling nature, which is our true feelings that our soul as you know, with comes with the soul you are I am a soul. I'm not. I'm not a soul. I'm a soul in this physical body. I don't have a physical body that has a soul is that there is I my feelings that I want to be a part of it all I want to have

clarity, I'm excited about being here, I'm enthusiastic when I really tune into my feelings, they feel great. But somewhere in our first seven years, you know, we get off track, and especially when that outer authority starts hitting, and then the insecurities develop. And then, you know, we look for structure to kind of help me feel even more secure. And I guess ⁓ what I like about

this idea of spiritual warfare that people are talking about is they're sort of waking up back to, as I mentioned earlier, there's more than meets the eye. There's more to this earthly plane existence or this material existence. And so how do I work that in? And folks are getting to this point where they're even saying like, well, that seems like evil, you know, and that's a good way to describe it. Well, I would say it's confusion.

And it's a lack and it's almost getting caught in my intellect, which is where the basis for all the fierces, because the truth is, is as a soul, I always have been, I always will be. And I am now, of course, is the most important thing. I for, know, for, for many, know for your audience, you know, they tune into you. So they're kind of familiar with some of this, these concepts that we're already talking about. So, you know, you've been around.

kind of hang in there, we're going to get into some good stuff. But if you haven't been around and this kind of newer to you, I think the big thing to start off with is that when we say spiritual, the common definition of spiritual is something that's not material, right? The material, the world, right? The tangible, tangible things, you know, the flesh, the, the, the cars, the, the things that you can touch, so to speak.

Spiritual represents that which you cannot touch. You know, it's inside, right? So even it's like, it would be like saying, well, prove to me you had a dream. Right? Well, how do you do that? I mean, it's a common experience that we all have, but yet can you prove it? Right? Even the science hook steps. Well, there's something going on there, but we can't say that he's having a dream about flying or, you know, running away from monsters or something. We don't know that.

That's just the experience of the individual. So that would be considered something spiritual as opposed to something material. Well, I'm driving down stuck in traffic. That's material. So that spiritual warfare, that's, that's something I'm experiencing on the inside. That's, that's that inside experience. mean, if you know, you're getting, it's a warfare on the outside and you're getting shot at, you know it. mean, that's the, right. It's pretty obvious. It's pretty obvious.

But where it's more insidious. And I think you said that in the green room, we started talking about how things can move in. And now I'm getting pressure or feeling those fears and experiencing those things. And it's not tangible. It's intangible. So it's pressure I'm experiencing. And this could be because I don't have that inner security going back to your point about why people are going back to searching for some kind of belief system.

Because I need to feel a part of something I want to so that when I do feel the pressures of the world, I'm not just exposed with no sense of boundaries, no sense of where this begins and ends. I'm just become this, this little cork, you know, floating on the river and getting thrown around and things like that. You know, so if I have that sense of wholeness or

completeness or I know where I begin and end or our classic thing to say Tom as we talk I know who I am I know where I came from and I know where I'm going so that's the real fundamentals to begin with and then the rest of it is now we can start digging in yeah and for those who say to themselves I don't really know who I am I don't know where I am and and where am I going we offer some online self-study

and workshops. And one of the ones that we'd like to highlight is the embrace online workshop. Yeah. And please follow the links below and you'll be able to, in fact, I'm going to offer a discount code that talked tiger into ⁓ giving us so that you can start to experience what we're talking about and started getting some clarity because ⁓ I'm sure there will be

set of the listeners that are listening out there go, yeah, you know, I experienced this spiritual warfare and I experienced this pressure and they've got all kinds of stories. We actually have some techniques, some easy solutions of spiritually cleansing so that you can get back to your own feelings and your own essence and kind of let go of the pressures of society and then start really discerning what you need to be involved with and what you don't need to be involved with and

how much of what you're fearing is even reality. Yeah. So, and that, I mean, Tom's right. I mean, it takes you right through. I've gone through them. I don't know how you've gone through them so many times and instructed them even. And, the stuff is so clear. It's just so spot on. You can't say it any more clearly and concisely without starting to put in a bunch of personality and filler.

It is so pure and clear. ⁓ Just talking about who you are, where you came from, where you're going, what you're a part of while you're here, why you're here, all that kind of stuff. And so when that starts getting into my feelings, that in other words, into my bones, so to speak, it's difficult to question when you know, if I say, Hey, you didn't have a dream, but you had a dream.

No one can tell you that you didn't have a dream, right? I mean, maybe if you want to be shy and you would say, okay, sure. Whatever you say, but you know that you had a dream, right? No one can take that out of you. It's the same thing as that when you start having that sense of who you really are and why you're here, no one can take that away. And that is the power. Imagine, I guess for me, it's imagine going through

new situations in your life or challenging situations where normally the average person would have a high level of anxiety and your level is much lower. And that's because you have those basic facts of who you are and what you're about that it starts stripping away all these things that I can attract that are confusing that

send me off and left or right or all kinds of weird places rather than just being me here in the present now. Right. And you were bringing that up earlier about how powerful it is just to be in the here and now. And I find it's something that, you know, I constantly or every so often need to remind myself, you know, I shared recently on an enthusiastically spiritual podcast about

being back in, you know, at work and in business and, and I had a fun but long day and I was feeling a bit tired and, and, you know, a little of the mental gymnastics was going on and I really needed to ⁓ cleanse myself, which we talked about in the online workshop, cleanse my environment and ⁓ work through a way to kind of regroup myself as to the what I got out of that day and

let it go, let it be in the past, learn from it and move on. And also just acknowledge the, fun that I did have. And despite the chaos around me, so to speak. And that's one of the things I want to mention is we actually offer some keys to get back to yourself. Even if you've been around for a long time. And as you've indicated, you know, we've I've taken sometimes I've read something I've read it 40 years ago.

And I thought I got it and I did, but all of sudden it sticks out to me like, ⁓ ha, that's what I'm doing. You know, I'm, I'm getting a little too caught in this or I'm thinking this thought. And so I can let that go, you know, all the searching. And I think some of the ⁓ confusion comes in when people go, I don't know what it is. And I've got to think about it and search and, know, set up this,

good and evil situation and that really comes from, you know, night and day. then science is like positive and negative. And then religion is more into the good and evil thing. And you know, there is some truth that certain habits that people have are not healthy habits, or certain ways of societies working with each other are against life, you know, the opposite of living. So

But you know, the key is not so much to be searching and wandering in my intellect and it's or proving something to myself. The key is getting back into my true feelings, discerning what I feel and my intellect is great at that, you know, and it's just mostly for me. I know personally, it's just trusting that first impression, which takes a little practice and

My favorite line, know, that Tiger often quotes is that don't expect anybody else out there to reinforce that for you that trusting your first impression. ⁓ that's something that I have to trust myself to do and practice so that I get better and better at it. And, okay. So, you know, like I said earlier, if you're kind of tuning in, there's going to be a lot of concepts moving around that we're going to talk about, right? And that's why we're recommended to do the workshop.

Not because we're just trying to sell you something because it really does give a solid foundation. It's real simple and it lets you go step by step. Now, for those of you have been listening and have been tuning into Tom and Teresa, this is where it's going to get nice and juicy. So I'd say the first thing to talk about there because because like attracts like that's I mean, that's it at the end of the day, you've heard of the law of attraction or is like Tom likes to call it the spiritual gravity. That

that energy of like attracts like, or the law of attraction is so clear, when I understand what's going on inside me. And the first thing talking about that spiritual warfare, if I don't have clear understanding that I have two natures, an intellectual nature and a feeling nature, or you could say like, the head and the heart, conscious and unconscious mind.

If I'm not clear with that understanding and how what each one is for, I will have an automatic war. I'll be flipping into one, flipping out of the other one, flipping over here in and out. And then I have these moments of balance, right? I have these moments of balance. And so what do I think that's going to do? If I'm in that state, then what do I, what am I going to attract? I'm going to, I'm going to tune into all that stuff. like a radio station.

Right. If I'm constantly in a semi-intellectual state, I'm always in my head. Well, then my radio, so to speak, is getting tuned for that. And I'm going to be attracting all that. If I'm an out of balance feeling nature, I'm only with my heart or that operating without that direction. Well, then my radio is going to get tuned for that, you know, and just to be clear real quick, when we say intellect and feelings,

When we say feelings, we're not talking about emotions. That's something different, right? Emotions are the product of your intellect. And it's, the plastic feelings of the intellect. What I've been trained to feel. Now I'm talking about your true feelings, right? You feel hot, you feel cold, you feel good. You don't feel good. You feel comfortable. You don't feel comfortable. These are like the law, right? No one can tell you not right. You've got that. Now what can come after that?

Might be an emotion like, don't feel comfortable here. Now here comes an emotion, right? But the true feeling is first, but I'd say the first thing to just to get into a little bit here before we get into kind of the big things that can, I can attract is that war within myself of thoughts and feelings. If I don't recognize that I have both and there it's in a flow, I'm going to start to be too reliant on one.

or the other. And what strikes me is that, well, the word power comes up for me, you know, and the, you know, the intellect wants to rule over the feelings is something that I've thought occasionally. And it's important. When I'm working with people to not get caught in those glory or power trips. And in fact, ⁓

to even say something like spiritual warfare, you know, that kind of implies, yeah, we're going to war and you know, we're going to do the good thing and, all that when, and really, like, as you say, what attracts it all to me is being out of balance between my feelings and my intellect. And the intellect is never really satis, you know, there's no, you'll never feel fulfillment in your intellect, you're going to feel it in your feelings. That's right.

And that's the path, that's the guide. Now that's not what you're told, that's not what people have been preaching for a long time, but many spiritual people realize that the path to enlightenment is just really trusting oneself and loving oneself and getting into those true feelings and really just tuning back into the inner wisdom that we have. Innately I know that everything's going to be okay, I just have to ask myself once in a while.

You know, it struck me that often people think something's a big mystery, but many times when I've been relaxed and I just tune into what do I feel the answer's like right there. Even sometimes like I like to watch old documentaries. This is one way I experience it. And you know, they'll be talking about a period of time and I'll find it, know, ⁓ that's what really happened, especially as I get more mature, you know, I see things from a different.

perspective than I did when I was 14 or something. And anyways, as I get into that, you know, often my guidance will give me little messages are all feeling my feelings. That's not really how it happened. How it would happen was this that and the other or this little thing over here. And it's amazing because like 10 minutes later in the documentary, sometimes five minutes later, or less ago, but what really happened was this that and the other.

You know, and because they have a new perspective on the historical, you know, analysis that they've done, or they've gotten some new evidence, you know, for the intellect, and ⁓ they start catching up with my feelings. So that's one way I could describe how these things work for me, but staying positive and cleanse is the best way to maintain boundaries that I don't have to feel like I'm at war all the time, right? Or that

I'm able to communicate my boundaries well so that I know that one of my helpers, my spiritual helpers, you you have a team that is very good at that. In fact, I was reviewing some consultations that I received years ago. And it's funny because I keep getting similar messages all the way down the road, you know, from those first consultations about

you know, just being very clear about their own self respect and their boundaries of what they wanted to be involved with or not involved with, or you might say for me, like what coming to me is boundaries of what I'm allowing myself to buy into or think. So if I get buy into that poor little me, or I buy into I'm getting old, it'll never work, or I'm, I buy into those things like I have to feel guilty for the rest of my life or something I did when I was 10. You know, that's

that's something I'm, that's not having a clear boundary. So my clear boundary is this is, you know, there's no way I can tell people what their boundaries are or what they need to work on. All we can do is pass on some tools and techniques, which I think that's what's great about the college is for people to kind of rediscover that for themselves because we're great believers and everybody has their own answers. It's just, we need a little help facilitation as to how do I get back into

You know, that flow of where I feel like I'm in the right place at the right time. There's no conflict between what I feel and what I think it goes hand in hand. And that's, that's where I was going to go as well. Tom is that I need to remember there's a flow to it rather than getting caught up in something. And where I'll have the most troubles is where I try to think my way through something.

rather than, okay, what's my goal? What's the true feeling? Okay, now how do I organize that and put it into action? And when I lose that sense of that, it's a part of a flow that my intellect is part of a flow. Then I'm starting to think that it's, it's this thing that I've got to do and figure out. And that's when it becomes overly powerful. It's like the computer starts to run on its own.

and starts to take over rather than, a minute, I just need your help computing so that I can go do something. You know, and that's the, that's the big distinction. I mean, think it's, it sounds rudimentary, but think how many times in your life that even my life where I've had the most trouble, it's because I wasn't flowing. It's because I didn't have that sense of balance. Even today, I can feel myself go off.

in conversations or in challenging situations, I can feel that lack of movement of flow, that lack of feel, think, act in there. We have a, one of the techniques in that, in that workshop is called word therapy. And it really helps clarify what my feelings are about and what my intellect is about and defines it for me. mean, it's like, okay, it's that simple. It's so simple. I don't even want to listen to it. It's too simple.

Right. But yet I'm the most happy when it's to be more complicated than that. Right. So it, one of the classic things for me is, ⁓ particularly when I was younger, maybe other people have had this experience is if I'm stuck in traffic or I'm at a job or something, and there's just really nothing to do, I'm having to wait. Right. And then it's like all these thoughts start getting going.

And then I can start complaining about the traffic and then I'm going to be late. And then this comes up. And then the next time I got a thousand things run through my head before I know it. And I'm trying to analyze and dissect something. It's like, I'm in a car. I'm in traffic. I'm stuck here for the time being. Right. So it's like, okay, I know where I'm at.

I know what I need to do next. I make sure I don't hit anybody. Okay. Just going to have to go and if there's a quicker way, I'll figure it out. If not call somebody or communicate or whatever I need to do. Otherwise what's happening is I'm getting caught up in a world of, and I'm going to use this word. I just get confused. I get confused of being here in the moment doing what I need to do. And that if I stay in that state,

If I don't, if I don't reel in all those thoughts and emotions and feelings, even if I don't have that clarity of what I, who I am and what I'm doing, then what's going to happen is I'm going to get all stuck. I'm going to get stuck in something. And then pretty soon, if I keep staying stuck in something, that's where it does feel like spiritual warfare, because I'm now part of the, pollution. I'm not part of the solution anymore.

I'm a part of this, I'm a part of those things now. So the real key for that, and I'd like to talk more about that, what happens when we get stuck in there. But the real key for me is just coming back here to the moment. it, you some people we've talked in the past about positive thinking, right? Which you bring it up like, let me just stay positive here. The positive thing is natural. If I'm in the moment.

if I'm just having the discipline to stay in balance when I can feel myself getting pulled off. Being positive all of a sudden just starts becoming normal like okay here I am right I'm stuck in traffic here I am it's hot and I have no air condition here I am right that's it there is no fancy thing to it it's like here I am yeah

And then when we move, okay, great. wow. That breeze was nice, you know? Yeah. And what I would do differently next time is I had that hunch to leave 15 minutes earlier. You know, I recognize that now. Hey, that's great. I recognize my hunches are leave 15 minutes earlier or yeah, somebody grabbed me at the door and I really needed to communicate. Hey, I need to leave now. Yes. Happy to talk to you later. And

Those are the little things, you know, it's when we talk about the was there. Yeah. The spiritual warfare, you know, like it's, so easy to make a big deal out of it. And that's what I kind of hear you saying when really, you know, that just being in balance is, a key solution. It's really not a big deal. And the more, the more I'm in that flow, the less that any of this stuff even affects me. Like I feel like

impression I have is it just like slips right off me like water off a duck's back is that old happy and free yeah to be happy and free well I mean and the other component is when I'm not doing that let's go let's get into that here this is the juicy part also right when I'm not doing that I am putting myself in a vulnerable place right I mean right if you're if you've done personal development work

or you're sensitive to the environment. It's just a sensitive person in general. When I say sensitive, I don't mean like you cry at any one thing. I'm saying that you're alert to the environment. You feel the environment. You're sensitive to people. If you have those qualities or you've developed those qualities, then having that balance and your boundaries start becoming essential. They don't be, they're not just nice to have. They become essential because

I need to know where I begin and end. And if I don't have that, I will become at the mercy of the strongest current around me. And going back to that point about that spiritual warfare, basically, I don't need to be at odds with anything because in order for me to be at odds with things, that means I have to be controlled and manipulated by all of the

would haves, could haves, all of the rights and wrongs or the goods and evils of the world. That's a requirement for me to get involved in spiritual warfare. If I don't have those things, in other words, I'm more relaxed, maybe I'm aware of it. Okay, I see that. Let's not get caught up in that. I get to that place where I actually start understanding it, respecting it for what it is and what it isn't.

I'm actually then able to rise above it, not rise above it in my head, right? Because that's just a mental gymnastics game, right? That's that's a game. I actually want to rise above it, because that's who I am. And part of that is starting to respect things as they are all of

In the bad old days, I used to get all worked up about the rights and wrongs of the politics and the war and all that kind of stuff. And, just having over time, you start to learn and mature like, right, that's been here for how long tiger and how long is that going to be here when I'm gone? It's going to be a permanent part of the structure at some level, right? At some level and different levels of over time.

because there's always going to be people at different states of consciousness. Yeah. So there's going to be that push and pull thing. However, if I'm not aware of what it is, and this is using your intellect for what it's for, I start understanding what it's about rather than what I think it should be about. If I understand what it is completely neutral, right? Dispassionate.

about what it is. It doesn't mean that I don't have to like something that's bad for me. I'm not saying that I'm simply saying what is it just factually that's what I'm using my intellect in a positive way. And then I'm not caught up in it because everything else is going to turn me to the dark side of the force. It's going to turn me because I'll get caught up in all those goods and bads that the what is righteous and what is evil.

All that stuff is going to start pulling me into a warfare that I have to fight. There's no other way around it. Yeah. And that's something that I observe a lot as I follow, you know, certain news stories in the media that ⁓ even the sides that I prefer, boy, you watch over time. They start doing the same thing to each other. Yes. And ⁓

It's like the energy has got to go to that, to that place. I think you put it very well, but yeah, in summary, you know, once I get into the shoulds and shouldn'ts in the, and making those, ⁓ you know, there's good and better and there's many levels of consciousness. And yeah, that's part of the challenge of being here. You know, that's part of the, but

The challenge is the results of those being in those challenges is I can learn to, can become more aware of rising above that and ⁓ like attracts like with energy. I think you brought up, you know, word therapy. And I wanted to say that there is truth, you know, from my perspective that, you know, if I, we have some techniques where we just work with positive words and people go around in a circle and

share those words. And it's amazing that feeling just kind of uplifts. And then they, take a, another technique where they just share these negative words or words, negative words is the best way to put it. And it's amazing how the energy just kind of goes down. So there's truth in all that. But the best protection I can have in spiritual warfare is for me to maintain that. We call it positive thinking, but it's that

working more from my feelings, discerning, and not judging, you know, all the things you hear, there's so much truth out there in various religions or ways of being in schools of thought. There's a lot of ⁓ a lot of truth in the tradition. So but how do I, how do I work that for me? And where do I begin and end with it? You know, it's, it's important to evaluate what's healthy, what's not healthy.

It's if I start getting caught in judging and a little one-upmanship, even if I'm just feeling a little, you know, they say it's not good to collode. Well, the reason it's not because it's bad, it's just because it's not good for it's like, you're not going to enjoy that over time over time. That's going to attract an energy that's it's not clean and clear. So, you know, we were talking a little earlier about how, it's, know, some of the

materials we have, they're just so clear. And in some ways, you know, it takes all the big thrills and emotional spills and rod and you know, all that stuff out of it. But I prefer that because it's great to just get back to clarity and then and move forward from there. But you know, we need like minded people to, ⁓ you know, kind of reinforce that in our environments. And there's a truth to that, you know, there's a truth to

joining together with people and sharing about what they're putting together. And we do need each other to bounce off of and learn and grow. It's all part of the part of the deal. mean, and that's part of I mean, that that is part of our purpose is to free people, right? That's part of our purpose that we've come to do. And so, you know, when we share these things, it's so that you can apply them, not just so it just sticks in your head and goes onto a shelf, right? So

That's why these tools and techniques are so powerful because you can bring them into work. You can bring them into traffic. You can bring them into the relationships. You can bring them into working with your kids. You can bring them into working with whatever, right? Or dealing with your physical body, whatever it is, there is an application for that. You can do something with it, which ultimately is part of your purpose, right? But the other thing I was going to bring up, and ⁓ I think this is where you were opening with, is imagine now

We have we've all seen this right? I'm sure you all have seen ⁓ friends, colleagues, not so friends, where they're just caught up in something. They're just caught up in something. Maybe they're okay over here. But when they start talking about this subject, man, they're caught up in something, whether it's politics, or whether it's the boss, or whether it's my partner, or my money, the finances, my physical body, you name it, it's something that that you can see their

see them start to change, they start digging in and start getting possessive over whatever it is. It just gets heavy. It starts getting real heavy. imagine that person, if they were, if that was the sum total, right? Like that was the majority of what they thought about. Imagine if they passed on in that state, right? They passed on.

physical body returns back to the earth, but because they're thinking those thoughts, it's a pattern of energy that they get caught in. Then what happens is they can't go out and they're not free. They're caught in the planet Earth gravity. They're part in all the games and machinations of planet Earth, because those things belong here to planet Earth. So when you hear things like

demons or confused souls or earthbound souls or unclean spirits. They start off with the basis of this, right? That is to say they're caught in things. And so it doesn't, it's not some way far out there thing that some, you know, the devil's going to throw stuff out at you, right? It's more starts with me being confused and not remembering why I'm here, right? Where I begin and end. So

That's that energy of where I get stuck in something. And if I don't change it, if I don't actually shift my beingness, shift my thinking, shift my doing, then I'm going, that's becomes me. I start being stuck in that. And until I change that pattern, I'm going to be in that pattern, like an hamster wheel. I'm just going to keep going and going and going until one day I see the light, so to speak.

And then it's like, you know, I don't have to do this anymore. And that's when I free myself. But that's the big key. That's that kind of high end level of that spiritual warfare that because I'm thinking that way, I'm going to attract situations, people, thought patterns or things out there that are just like that. And that's where it gets heavier. Yeah. And I've often remarked, ⁓

I go, why am I attracting that? know, that's something showing up in my environment. I, you know, over the decades, I've realized, you know, it's, must be thinking something I'm over thinking. I'm, I'm, I'm almost subconsciously or unconsciously, not super conscious that I'm a little fearful in this area, or I, ⁓ I, I'd want to tread. There's some trepidation. There's something there that

I need to just let go of in or a new habits, you know, a new habit. And one of the ones that, uh, I had a situation come up in a business where I was doing a transaction with somebody was just going really well. And, know, I was trying to my best to get them to be able to get their thing fast and so forth. And, um, all of sudden, uh, the person just said, Oh, nevermind. And just walked stormed out. And I was like,

What the heck just happened there? You know, and I was regrouping with a colleague and he said, you know, the only thing I cause the customer came back and, and, ⁓ ended up following through. And, ⁓ he says the only thing I, maybe he just didn't communicate, you know, and, and, I, I thought I had. And I, it's interesting because lately I've been kind of aware of where I think something, but I don't actually say it. ⁓

And, usually that's because a little fear comes in. So what I did differently from that is, ⁓ you know, I'm saying to myself, instead of saying to myself, well, that's so unfair. I'm so sincere. I just want to help this person. And they just, and, that, to be honest, that other person was under pressure. were, there was pressure from another third party that were wanting them to do something that they weren't really sure of. And so, ⁓

when one little kind of hiccup shows up or one little like bump, they got to go over. It's like, they couldn't handle it. You know, they get, had the excuse. They had an excuse or that something. And actually I respect that person for saying, okay, I'm a little under pressure about this. I'm going to, it had nothing to do with my pressure, but I'm going to get, get out of here for a minute and regroup. What is it I really need to do? Which is all okay with me. And, ⁓ but

I've been in the last couple of weeks, you know, I've been just making sure I say something right when I first think of it and making sure I communicate and not hold back. And, know, people will tell you, or they often say to me, Tom, you're an amazing communicator. You're so good at it. And, you know, it is natural for me and I've probably worked on it for lifetimes, you know, once somebody said to me, but boy in certain situations.

Where, you know, a lot of times I'm a great communicator and really, but certain little fears come up or becoming aware of my thoughts and, ⁓ yeah. So that patterns don't keep repeating themselves. And that's really, ⁓ you know, I'm kind of being honest here about, ⁓ those situations, but you know, life's like that. mean, it's, it's a path of self discovery all the every step of the way.

This is one of those things that we should have a little short that goes viral here because the good news is there's hope. There's hope. There's hope. And there that hope leads to the opening this and the positivity. And anytime I get into this game, because it's a possessive game I can get into, right? I'm being possessive of the things that work against me.

That's how it works. I mean, this is that juicy part we were talking about. The truth is, if I've got a problem, I need to go look in the mirror. Yeah, that's going to be what it comes down to at a certain point. Like, and I know many people don't want to hear that. I'm seven years old or I'm 14, I'm still figuring it out or something. OK, there's some latitude there, right? Yeah. But when you start hitting, you know, the third, fifth

Six cycle, okay, there's just one person to really look at here and it's the person in the mirror because I can relate to that a lot. I think a lot of people can. It's like, I know that there's this thing that I do that can work against me. Why do I keep buying into that? I'm paying a price for this. Why do I keep buying into that? But the facts are is there's hope. There's hope because I got myself into it.

That means there's, can get myself out. Yeah. And that's a fact. No one forces me to think my thoughts. Nobody. I do that. That means if I do that, you do that, you have the keys to the kingdom. So it then just becomes that energy for myself of me to come back home, be in balance, get relaxed and move forward. Right? It's normally because I got a kink right there.

And I haven't let the water start flowing again. I'm stuck. Right? So when the moment I relax, all of a sudden I get the insights. I get that divine inspiration. I, I myself start moving toward what I need to be, you know, and that those bad habits, bad being that it works a habit that works against my true nature, those bad habits all of a sudden loosen up.

And I start to be able to do something different in the moment, even to the point where I can go front loaded, like, okay, today is going to be my opportunity to do this. Yeah. Right. And I, and just to kind of wrap this part up for myself, you're speaking about it, some personal experiences. It's like, even with all the things that I know and have discovered for myself and the amazing adventures and misadventures I've gotten myself into.

I can still run up against certain things and certain types of situations where I get stimulated. Yeah, I'll fall back. For me, it's like certain people. in fact, I would even like I'll add that the other person on the other side of that exchange that occurred, because really was no big deal. But there's I probably reminded that person of somebody that puts pressure on them.

I'm a visionary intuitive or I'm of a certain age or whatever. And sometimes we're just, we don't know that we're doing that, but we do. And interestingly enough, what I did was I was really clear every step of the way with everybody right after that. And I thought, and it felt so good, because at first I felt bad and then I didn't want to admit I did something bad. And that's like the thing that works against you the most I find, because

I don't want to admit that I was that stupid that I didn't say it out loud or whatever, because I didn't mean to do that. And all of it is the past. Yeah, it's all the past. And, and the person ended up getting what they needed. So not there was no harm done. I mean, we're talking about like a microsecond of a situation. So ⁓ but as I began to implement my new habit, like took it on board and go, okay,

I really don't want to go through that again. So I'm going to change and I'm going to, you know, not take something for granted. Or when that little fear came up that I just for some reason didn't communicate, you know, I'm around somebody who kind of, you know, does that reminds me of my mother or something or a father or whatever it is that I, you know, like I say, in a nanosecond, it happens.

Anyways, it's I felt great about it. Like as the day or two went by, I was like, I feel great. You know, I feel and then I started to focus on the really positive exchanges I had all day and the camaraderie and positive things my teammates said to me. And so it made it a worthwhile growing experience. I mean, what the other part of this and

and to kind of put a bow on this is when I come back to the reality that everything is my opportunity. Instead of a job that I've go to, I got to deal with my partner, I got to deal with this situation. It's an opportunity. Now that sounds real good, Tiger, except for when I get under pressure. So the facts are is I have to be

What is the, think it's the Einstein thing that no, no problem can be resolved by the state consciousness that created it. Right. So that's a good one. I mean, you get the point, right? In other words, if I'm going to move beyond my challenges or blocks, then I'm going to have to upgrade. Me, I am. That means some of my habits, some of my routines, some of my thoughts.

I need to upgrade. It doesn't mean that the, the, the everything will be rainbows and roses, but it does mean that I need to start changing. I need to be willing to pay the price in order to move forward so that I don't keep reliving that. And the price is that I'm going to have to let go of some of those things I used to be possessive of and think about. And that's part of the price. Maybe that means that

I don't hang out with certain types of groups of people. Maybe it means I don't watch that show that gets me all ticked off and upset. There's price to move forward. That's those. That's why a lot of people feel anxious about success. It's not the failure. That's such a big deal. They experience failure all the time. It's the success because now I'm going to have to move out of that area that I'm in into a new area.

into another level of responsibility for myself. And that's, that can be scary, right? So there's a price that I have to pay. And that's that part about looking in the mirror, unless I want to be caught in the spiritual warfare for the rest of my life and play that game out over and over again. And I become part of that warfare in order for me to have that peace that passes understanding. I'm going to have to start changing.

I'm going to have to start making it practical, right? And it means that the friends that I've gotten used to, I need to make sure that I evaluate that with love, reference and respect based on where I'm going, not where I've been. And if I don't evaluate that, then all the thoughts that I have, and I can tell you personally, I do this, I can get caught into old thoughts and ideas.

But really my thoughts and ideas need to be curtailed toward where I'm going. Not where I've been. My friends and the people I hang out with, I need to be sensitive to where they fit. Right. There's some people in my life. I love them. I love them, but they fit over here. And as far as my progress personally, spiritually,

They fit over here, but the, people, they're the people I need to move toward. Right. And you're going to, people know that you all know that who those people are. And it doesn't mean that I have a lack of love for them. It doesn't mean that I don't respect them. I just know where they fit in my life. And it's a beautiful thing as our brother says, it's a beautiful thing. ⁓ but if, if I come back down to that reality,

then what happens is I truly open up. can truly love and respect people as they are. I can be in the moment like you're saying and being of service. I'm there. ⁓ I can feel this coming. Got it. And that that's one of those situations where like, I was sharing with Teresa about I said, you know, and another thing I do differently is I'd kind of like tune into I don't know why I didn't see that coming. I actually do know why.

and, ⁓ it, it's, ⁓ it wasn't a big deal, but it's just, it's my, and when the little fear comes up, you know, say I'm one to impress somebody and a little fear of wanting to impress that person because I think they're cool and wow, they're dealing with me. And, and then that little fear cuts off my sensitivity. You know, you wouldn't a fear of being accepted or

you know, something that gets stimulated that maybe happened in my first seven years. And I'm still every once in a while it can show up. And then another person, it would just never have happened that way. So, uh, I'm not, I also want to say that there's what strikes me about when you were sharing and I keep seeing this, you know, if I have a system out there that I'm trying to live up to,

then I can really get into the shoulds or shouldn'ts. And so I could say like, well, that person should have been more patient with me, which is true. However, they were under pressure. So there, you know, what if, and, and now I can have a fight with her, you know, or with that person's like, ⁓ you should have been under, you should have been more patient with me. Well, that wasn't really fair what you did to me, you know, and because I'm going against this structure of, you know, what you're supposed to do a prescribed

prescription. Here's the problem. We all have different prescribed prescriptions or there's a lot of different ones. You know, you get along with people that I think they used to say, you know, like if you're Catholic or Jewish, marry a Catholic, marry a Jew, because at least you have a similar foundation. You know, there's some wisdom in that. That's right. You're confused together, you know, least you know where you're beginning to end.

Yeah. So you, you know, and honestly in life, we do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons and it's all learning and growing, know, mixing this and that and the other. But, uh, yeah. So that, that, that's what strikes me. If I'm too into the intellectual side of it, there will, that warfare will always happen. If I, if I always find it, I'll always find it, you know, not maybe with everybody that I hang with, but

There'll always be some people. And so my kind of closing with this is that that spiritual warfare, I think there's a phrase for us that as a parting phrase for you all and for us is that ⁓ to help bring me back home, right? To bring me back home, to bring me back in balance, to bring me back to my purpose. And that phrase is, thank you for your opinion.

Yeah. Right. And I'm saying that because you for the lesson. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you for your opinion. So whatever the TV says to get me all worked up or whatever that person says, or whatever running thoughts, habits of thoughts that run through my head, I get to say, thank you for that opinion. In other words, it's my decision whether to bite onto that or not.

It's my decision to whether I'm going to go play and indulge in that game or not. It's my decision. It's my option. So that whole energy of thank you for your opinion is so powerful when it comes to when everybody's out there wants to play this warfare game with each other and their one value is bumping up against another value. And, like you're saying, Tom, this should

conflicts with this should and and on and on it goes, it won't end. There is no end to that you think that they'd get tired. If they're to get tired, there's just a pause and then they go right back to it when you them a chance. That's right. I mean, it's just like that. And that's great because I was there once too. And I learned to outgrow that. So the warfare thing only works. It's like dancing. If that's too to tango.

Right? It takes two to do that. If I don't bite, if we don't bite on to that situation, there's nobody to fight against. Now, I'm not saying I don't set my boundaries. You know, we were clear about our boundaries, you're clear about your boundaries. So you got to set your boundaries. But as far as playing games with people, that's a very, you know, let other people do that. Let other people do that. outgrow that if you get caught, you know, you get caught in that.

Just come back to these little things that we're sharing. Do that, that technique workshop, that cleansing technique, cleansing your environment. And the, it's like, I don't know, there's like 20 techniques. Cause I'm overstating a little bit, but there's like a lot of techniques in that workshop. It's unbelievable. But just starting off today by saying today is my opportunity and thank you for your opinion. Just coming back home to that.

is what will shift that energy out of what would be considered negative to the positive. And I cannot expect this is your line, right? I cannot expect anyone to reinforce that in me. There'll be people like my brothers and sisters that will come and say, Hey, tiger, snap out of that. You don't need to do that stuff. yeah, you're right. Thank you. But I can't expect or assume that I need to be willing to do it for myself.

And when I am, that's what brings peace to the choppy water, right? Peace be still, right? I think it all comes down to self respect. And really what we're on about here and what we're sharing is, is, as I have that self respect enough respect for myself, I really want to say respect, as well as love, but it's just respecting.

who I am, I'm a powerful soul. I have a right to be here. I'm here to learn and grow. And how do I get back to that inner inner power that inner enthusiasm? When I feel imbalanced, I'll feel that and there will not be the need for all that. That other stuff, you know, we're not

We say this all the time, but we're not sharing about self-respect like me first, second, and third. We're just saying it's got to start with me and then allow others to have their self-respect as well. And together we move up. Like the picture I get is we move up as two, two powerful. Now the team is all moving up in that powerful, respectful, respectful way. And, ⁓ but I can't have any expectations that everybody's going to be ready to go there.

with me. I just have to work with the ones as you said, sometimes I have to change some of my friends that are willing to to work with work with me in that area. Well, thank you for letting us share with you. Again, check the links below for Wayshower's college. We've got some free video links. We've also got the embrace workshop online with a discount code. And that's a self study program that's going to give you some positive solutions.

And yeah, we look forward to any comments, any sharing you'd like to give and how you relate to it. You know, you'll probably have noticed today, know, Tiger went from one angle because it's something he's working on and I kind of went from another angle, but there's enough commonality that we've simulated some solutions and we're getting insights from spirit as we, you know, share with you and share with other people. anything you want to say? Yeah, I'm looking forward. Let's get involved people.

See you next time.
