"We're all a mirror of one another."  Teresa and Tom explore the profound connections we have with the souls that brought us into this world, particularly in the context of Mother's Day and Father's Day. They discuss the spiritual implications of choosing our parents, the energy we inherit from them, and how this shapes our identity and life experiences. The dialogue emphasizes the importance of recognizing both the positive and challenging aspects of our familial relationships, the process of forgiveness, and the journey of self-discovery. Ultimately, they encourage listeners to honor their origins and embrace the lessons learned from their parents.

  • Many people feel they don't belong to their families.
  • We choose our parents based on spiritual agreements.
  • Our parents' experiences shape our energy and identity.
  • Recognizing the positive qualities in our parents is essential.
  • Forgiveness is a key to healing familial relationships.
  • We are mirrors of our parents' qualities, both good and bad.
  • Self-discovery involves understanding our conditioning from parents.
  • Honoring the positive aspects of our parents can lead to self discovery.
  • Life experiences are shaped by the energy of our origins.
  • We learn from our parents, and they learn from us.

We are between the season of Mother's Day and Father's Day right now. So I thought it'd a good time to chat a little bit about these souls that we come in through. And so Tom and I are here today. Hey, Tom. Hello, Teresa. Are you ready to talk about the souls that brought us in? Yes, I am. Well, you know, I think it's a good thing to tune into occasionally because there's a lot of people ⁓ and, you know, myself through the years have had issues with the people that we came in with. And oftentimes

I have felt kind of like I didn't belong and I was different than them and yes, I am different than them. So I wanted to share a little about that today. So what's your thought about the parents you came in with or the reality of these souls? Well, that comment that you made that you felt like you didn't fit in, that's pretty typical for people who start to search spiritually. You know, like in my, you know, I seem to be the odd one in the family. I have different interests. I have

different concerns, but anyway ⁓ Well, I'm reading out of this book called man in the universe And it's it's available through the way showers college. Yeah, we can put a link down below Yeah, which is a college that of experience of spiritual experience that I've been working with for many decades now or a number of decades and There's a part in one of the original presentations and also in the free videos that we offer

through the Wayshowers College through the link down below that talks about once you decide what you're here to accomplish here on planet earth and then once you select a team of spiritual helpers souls who have already mastered the lessons you've come to learn and we you know we've talked about spiritual helpers a lot and ⁓ you also will then choose two people here on

planet Earth to build a physical body for you to get started in your life's work. I'll just read from here. So in our society, we call them a father and a mother. Usually you choose this couple because you had some understanding with one or the other of them before. Two months after conception, you and your helpers start feeding energy to that group of cells that will become your physical body. This is the way you become

heart of the earth. The reason you are here is to find yourself. And one of the other

areas I'd like to point out is that if we desire to find ourselves, we have to reverse some of our thinking and discard many things to which we have been conditioned. Most of us are looking in the wrong direction. We've been looking outside for the basis of success and happiness rather than inside where the real teacher resides. That sounds like some think about all that.

Well, that sounds like some spiritual truths. Hello or universal truths, which really, I really resonate with from within. And so I really liked the part about, you know, how once I worked with my spiritual helpers on the other side that, you know, there are actually souls that have mastered what I'm here to work on this lifetime. So then I choose or resonate with an energy of people to come in through these two souls and

The thing that really stimulated me and started me down this path of just, not only that today's Mother's Day, then next month is Father's Day, but that energy of honoring the people and the souls that brought us in. And so last night, Tom and I are watching on Netflix, a documentary on Vietnam. And my father is a Vietnam veteran. And throughout my life, he passed away when I was 23. So I never even thought about asking him about it. He never, ever brought it up.

And as we're watching this documentary, it just came to me and I realized the energy of what he experienced and what my mom experienced from when he came back from Vietnam. And then what I came in through with that energy. you know, as their souls, mean, obviously, I believe that souls, you know, were pure energy. But we do have a resonance from us depending upon what we're experiencing in each moment that we're here.

So during this, when I came in in 1968, it was in the, I guess, the middle pretty much of Vietnam. And my dad had just, you know, he'd been out for a while, but he was there with a tour a little bit before that. And so he, he clearly, I feel had some things going on inside of him that he never was able to bring forth and share. so knowing, and also in 1968 was when so much happened, you know, Martin Luther King Jr. was, was assassinated. Robert Kennedy was assassinated.

and there was a lot of chaos going on on the planet at that moment. And so coming in with that energy behind them and behind me, just really made me start regrouping and really considering these two souls that I chose to come in through and what the energy was at that moment. Yeah, ⁓ for me when I first heard that, ⁓ it was a concept that I put on a mental shelf. You know, I said,

I don't know, you know, because I was really raised in a religious upbringing where, you know, we come from God and there's a lot of truth in all that. Like we come from the higher source or the universe. But ⁓ the idea that I would have chosen the family I was in, I, and you hear many people say this, my God, I wouldn't have, you know, you can't, know, you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your relatives, you know, kind of a thing.

And the facts are we're all attracted to the people that we're surrounded by, you know, one way or another. And how I relate to it is that I noticed that there's times in my life as I begin to, you know, look inside for answers, I start taking a look at the conditioning I've, you know, picked up on. And to me, those are the habits and the attitudes and concepts that

you know, were passed along or at least re stimulated by my parents or the people who raised me. So I myself, you know, have watched some documentaries. My dad was a Marine in the late fifties and a Naval aviator. And in fact, I was born in Hawaii because he was in the Marine Corps at that time. And to make a long story short, you know, he was

He was, there's no such thing as a former Marine, you know, he had that Marine ⁓ presence and his whole life and, know, kind of raised us to be little Marines in some sense, in a kind of in a sense, and, ⁓ you know, to toughen us up and so forth. But ⁓ once I watched this documentary about boot camp, I was like, ⁓ I get my dad now. Like that's as a young man, that's what he was. ⁓

He was trained in that mode of leadership, you know, and, all that sort of thing. And he probably resonated with it as well. So it's, this is how I start to relate to, you know, why I chose my parents. So what was in that for me? Why would I have been attracted to that energy? And because there's times I go, holy smokes, but then there's times that go, well, you know, I can see some of those positive qualities.

And the spiritual qualities are those intangible feelings, you know. It feels like you have something to share on that. Yeah, it's interesting because for myself in recognizing that my father was in the army and that I just came from a lifetime where I was in the military. And so and that enabled me to come through this soul and have that energy behind me and that backing that I went into military 17, they went right back.

to Germany where I was in my previous lifetime. I mean, it's like, you know, you can't make this up, right? The synchronicities of that energy and you know, even unconsciously, I didn't know any of this right until years later. mean, decades later, the conscious, you know, awareness became later, you became, my goodness, that's why I made those choices. Or I

I can the affinity with that energy. Absolutely, absolutely. And I think also the thing that pops into my mind about the souls that I chose is, you know, there is the collective energies of what's happening on the planet, what they're individually going through, or what they've gone through in their lifetime and put together for themselves. you know, like, I mean, my mom's been through a lot of stuff too, like and my dad too, like they both have been through a lot, like most people, right? Yeah.

They've been through their challenges. They've been through their challenges and and you know, and they're still alive. So hello are they were at that point. So but recognizing when I tune into the soul essence of like my father very gregarious, very happy, I would even say enthusiastic. You know, mean, but I saw knowing what I know now and looking back at the life he had and you know, he was all he was always

out doing something. was out at the, know, the Quanas, the Lions, you know, the golfing or bowling league. And, and that's kind of how I've been my life. I mean, I love going out and exploring and doing things. And so that free feeling that, you know, sense of, of, know, of really freedom. mean, he really tried to capture that in the short time that he was here. Wow. I know, right.

That's just my dad and then my mom. Yeah, because I think most of the time, you know, we ⁓ focus on what we didn't like about him, you know, so, you know, there was times where my dad was very harsh, you know, with that sort of marine intensity. And on the other hand, I have an affinity for the Marines. I, you know, was a baby on a Marine base and, you know, I was an FBI agent and we were at Quantico and

You know, I like the vibe of the Marines and, and yet I haven't been in the service, you know, this lifetime. So, you know, there's something that resonates in me with that discipline and interdisciplinary as well as, you know, other positive qualities. So not only is it important that we look at, you know, what habits and attitudes we picked up from them, maybe religious concepts they had that ⁓

Don't fit us. It's great to acknowledge the positive. Yeah, I agree. As Mother's Day is coming up, what do you have to say about your mother? Well, that is today when we're recording this. It's on Mother's Day. That's right. And again, that's really what stimulated this whole conversation around these souls that bring us through and honoring them. I guess also since, you know, I'm kind of disconnected from my daughters that I brought through. So it's definitely a time of, you know, stimulated

thoughts and regroupings around being a mother and motherhood. So for my mom, again, she's had a very challenging upbringing. And she though her soul essence is creative. Her soul essence is warm and loving. Her soul essence is, you know, she doesn't know a stranger. She's just, you know, she can be a lot of fun when she's, you know, really embracing that soul essence. And that's

the feeling I get when I tune into who she really is as a soul, not looking at the outer surface of all the things she's been through and the challenges physically and the things she's had happen. yeah, so I really like this conversation because I feel that a lot of times we don't look at or even ponder upon the people that brought us through.

And I feel it feels really powerful to me. What about you, Tom? Yeah, I think ⁓ the intrinsic qualities, I want to say that word intrinsic, that's the word that comes to me. So it's that inner, inner quality, because we're all going to be shaped by our environments and the time frame that we grow up in. That's what I hear you saying about Vietnam is that, you know, your father was involved in all that I was alive then and I remember the feeling of the time and

when things shifted in 1968 and all that sort of thing, you know, I remember the vibe and ⁓ where society kind of was at and the shift before that all kind of started to happen. So there's these intrinsic qualities. I know with my mom, it was easier. My biological mom, you know, I felt ⁓ more of an affinity, a lot more like her energy. ⁓

She's very loving, accepted everybody, ⁓ loved to laugh, and I relate to those ⁓ qualities in myself as well. She also had some areas, some blockages, you might say, and you can find out about these blockages working with your spiritual helpers and taking a look within and just really check what is it...

that works for me and what doesn't work for me anymore, you in terms of what concepts I have, like, you know, that we're little worms or life is hard or I don't know, I don't know what I'm gonna do. You know, we pick up these habits and attitudes, but ⁓ it's great to have those challenges because as I kind of uncover what's happening intrinsically with me, I can change that programming. You know, I can start to... ⁓

do that therapy where I just have an affirmation. One of the comments my mom used to make as she went through challenges was like, oh, Tommy, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I don't know what I'm gonna do. And I can hear that in my head sometimes. And so I replace that with, I always feel secure when I work from my feelings. I always can find a solution.

there's always help. know, there any positive reinforcement to just shift that energy ⁓ or I have confidence in myself that I'll land on my feet or, you know, to start setting my energy. So ⁓ anyway, you know, for both sides of the family, there's some really positive qualities, know, leadership. My father was very generous, ⁓ was a great provider and ⁓ was a

very ethical person, know, especially in business and working with other people. And ⁓ he had an inner discipline in certain areas. And that discipline, ⁓ you know, was passed along as well. So in sometimes, you know, I find that when we reflect upon the souls that we chose to incarnate through,

You know, there's got to be like attracts like spiritually. It's like, I was just going to go there magnetic thing. was going, I was going to say about, I was going to go to the mirror. Yeah. That there, that we're all a mirror of one another coming from the same, know, the source of God, the universe, whatever you want to call it. And so if you can embrace that aspect that we're all a mirror to one another, there's, there's good. then there's not so good qualities that they're mirroring us. And so I know quite a few people that have had.

that are disconnected with a father or disconnected with their mother? ⁓ And what of that mirror are they not wanting to look at in themselves? And I am just as guilty as that many years ago when I didn't want to connect with my mom. And so what was I not wanting to look at at that moment? of course, these are, you know, sometimes the more challenging aspects of looking at the positive qualities, right? Like it's the

Like, ⁓ I just want to be happy and enthusiastic and free. Well, there's also the I'm pissed and angry and you know, there's the other side. So in looking at both sides of the equation, but looking at it from a mirror aspect that they're they're really a mirror of my good qualities I want to embrace and also what I've come to heal. What do feel like that? I feel when it comes to my folks, it's or those souls that I chose to incarnate through.

There were positive qualities that I would, I looked for some reinforcement. You know, I knew that we were on a similar, you know, wavelength, you might say, or frequency in that area. And then there were probably areas that I was looking to master so that I got a little re stimulated in those areas. And I, one big clue is that when there's something your folks do that really stimulates you, you know, like really, ⁓ my God, you know, there, you can bet you have a little of that in you.

you know, and as we talked about a couple of episodes ago, you know, we were watching this movie about a wedding and it was a romantic comedy kind of thing and how the family in that situation, you know, one mother, the mother was very conservative and the daughter was very liberal. And what they both didn't realize is it wasn't that they had the same ideology, but they were both super stubborn about

their ideology. Now that's the to me that's the underlying spiritual intrinsic. Why am I so stubborn about my way or the highway, you know? So it was a great that was a great, you know, episode that way. But you know, it's not to say that there didn't have areas to improve. mean, we all do. And, ⁓ you know, with every new generation, we usually ⁓ you know, you we do bring another level

of consciousness with us and that's important to realize as well. In some ways, when it comes to my parents, I've realized that in some ways we learn from them and they learn from us. well said. whilst on planet Earth, it's important that we respect everyone and respect them and work with the positive side just like anybody else.

But on the other hand, respect myself that I've got something to pass along just by living that example of, you know, being happy and free. Yeah, I think that is a big key to is, you know, being ourselves and living that example. And so, as I mentioned that I, you know, have two daughters that have disconnected from me since the divorce, and it's been almost eight years for one of them. in recognizing and I recently was doing some forgiveness work around it from my end and, know, and

moving that energy forward. And I had an interaction with a healer recently and the question was asked, well, so, you know, when you do forgiveness work around something or someone, what, you know, do you then reach out to them then, you know, to connect and to do that? And she said, you know what? No, what you do, and this really hit me big time is you do your work and then if they're meant to come around you again, it will happen.

that rotation will come and they'll be back around. So recently I did that. I wrote a letter to both of the girls and and and you know, said some things and apologize for whatever I did on my end of the the bark of you know, the two way street and and let it go because the thing is is you know, as we're all moving through our journeys and having our learnings or opportunities to expand and grow, we're in different places. And so there are some times when we do disconnect.

for a while or sometimes it could be the whole rest of the life and being okay with that wherever you are and I say you because I should say wherever I'm at but also I do know there are people out there that have that I've come in contact with this is very common that ⁓ children or even adult children no longer connect so

But for myself, it's important that I recognize that I play a piece in the role also of this relationship that I brought through. And then again, maybe it's completed or maybe it's not. But I've done my part to work on that aspect of it. Does that make sense, Tom? Yeah, what occurs to me and what, you know, his spirits reminding me of is that whenever I think about my folks, both have passed on at this stage, is to really just focus on the positive, you know, what was the the

good part, you what was the positive part? Or even if it was kind of a negative thing, maybe it was a challenge. You know, one might say to you could say to yourself, well, that was a challenge. That was an area that they could improve, but I got stronger because of it. Or I realized that that's not a positive leadership or the most positive leadership, you know, kind of a thing, because we're all doing the best we really know how. ⁓ If we could do better, we would.

And we're all going to grow. We're all going to evolve. It may take some people a little more quote time, as we say on planet Earth, but, ⁓ you know, it's all going to happen. No one's lost. We're all here for that experience. I think the more that I what's for me, forgiveness. And as I think about those positive qualities, it helps me release the past so that I can be in the present and move forward. In fact, I'm the one who gets the most out of forgiving.

⁓ another person or forgiving myself. And as long as you know, I tuned back into that true concern, that's that healing energy that, that I have, you know, when I tune into that true concern and love, ⁓ then I can move into constructive thought and action. And then from there, I'm moving forward, accomplishing what I'd want to accomplish, you know, building my life, ⁓ and attracting the relationships that I want in my life.

And also just being an example. How do you feel about that? Yeah, I feel that's a great place to ⁓ to wrap up this episode because it feels to me like, you know, when we recognize and just honor, know, Mother's Day, Father's Day or any time of the year when we're really contemplating and moving through these spiritual parts of ourselves and expanding and growing. It's just good to give, you know, to give honor back to those that really brought us through and in the. ⁓

the challenges and lessons we've learned along the way. Yeah, and if any of this resonates with you folks out there, anything we said, take a look at the links in the show notes for some free videos for Teresa's book, the soul quick survival guide, and ⁓ any other offerings that we have to help people get in touch with ⁓ their guidance, their spiritual helpers, so you can start to expand and grow yourself into a better way of life.

How about that? And with that we'll say ⁓ thank you for watching or listening to another episode of enthusiastically spiritual. We appreciate each and every one of you and wherever you're at, just honoring your, the souls that brought you through would be a really great thing to do right now. Yeah. And remember that life is too short to not be enthusiastic about your unique journey.
